How to create an instance

ATLauncher uses the concept of instances to represent a playable modpack. To create an instance and play Minecraft you'll first need to make sure you have added your Minecraft account. If you haven't done so already, add your account to the launcher.

Once you've added your account, find a pack that you want to play. We have various different packs you can take a look at:

• The Featured Packs tab contains ATLauncher packs that are featured. These packs are a good place to start.
• The Vanilla Packs tab lets you install a specific version of Minecraft along with optionally a modloader such as Fabric or Forge so you can get started making your own modpacks easily.
• The Packs tab contains packs from various sources, including ATLauncher, CurseForge, Modrinth and Technic, giving you many different options to choose from.

Once you've found the pack you want to play, then click on New Instance to start the installation process. You'll choose a name along with the version of the pack to install as seen below:

Some packs will allow you to choose optional mods. These are mods which may enhance your experience, but are optional. For packs that include optional mods, it will pop up a window and ask you to select which optional mods to install. You can see more information about a mod by hovering over the mods name. Once you've selected the optional mods, then you can click Install to start the install process:

The install process may take some time. If this is the first instance you've installed, it will need to download all the files needed to run Minecraft and the pack. This includes sounds, textures, Minecraft, libraries and mods. Depending on the speed of your internet connection, this process may take up to 10 or 20 minutes. You'll be able to see the progress as it's installing:

Once fully installed, you'll be able to find the instance in the Instances tab. You can do various things here including editing mods, backing it up, deleting it, changing the instances settings and more. To play the instance, simply click the Play button and the instance will launch:
