The Vanilla Beyond
This modpack does not include new technology trees or systems of magic. It does not include anything that overhauls the rules of the game, although there are some tweaks to make it more challenging (or to simplify things). There is no "progression" to grind your way through (more than you're already familiar with).
The expansions added to this pack include expansions to redstone technology, the minecart system, and the enchantment system. Mobs are more aware and more cooperative, to make fighting them more of a challenge. Food is less filling, but there are more options that span the range between basic crops and feasts. And alternatives to mob drops are available without needing to risk your life fighting them.
In addition, you have a huge selection of creative blocks to choose from, which can allow your imagination to flourish in ways that wool alone cannot match, and the option to generate a more realistic world in which you can explore.
So, bring your knowledge, courage, and creativity. There is a world beyond the basic, beyond just the vanilla. Join us in the Vanilla Beyond.

The Vanilla Beyond 1.0.1 Update
Several mods have updated since the original release of this modpack, so it has been updated to include them. Also, the dialog box for DragonAPI has been disabled from the config, to make starting the game less of a hassle (besides, keeping the mod up-to-date is my job, not yours. ;P)
